Central California — Bridges Organic Produce
Central California, USA

Central California is one of the most prolific growing regions in the world, producing over half of the fruit, vegetables and nuts grown in the United States.

This region also has great diversity, growing over 230 different crops. The climate of central California—hot, dry summers with cool, damp winters—as well as rich, fertile soil are just two of the many factors that make this such an important area for agriculture.

Our Central California Squash Program

Organic Squash Program

Bridges Produce has developed a very robust organic hard squash program shipping out of Washington from mid-fall to mid-winter and Mexico during the winter and spring. The only thing missing was sourcing during the summer and early-fall. We have partnered with several dedicated central California growers to make our year-round hard squash program a reality.

Just because the region has a stellar growing climate and fertile soil does not mean the agriculture process is ever simple or easy. Water conservation, labor, and soil fertility are just a few of the areas that pose challenges for the farmers in this region. We are lucky to work with growers who see these challenges as opportunities to give back and grow.
